Responsibilities: - Provide accurate and fluent interpretation services from English to Kurdish and vice versa in formal settings, such as conferences, meetings, legal proceedings, and diplomatic events. - Ensure clarity and precision in translation, maintaining the tone and context of the original message. - Conduct research and prepare in advance for complex or technical topics to be discussed during interpretation assignments. - Act as a cultural liaison, bridging language and cultural gaps between English and Kurdish-speaking parties. - Remain neutral and impartial during interpretation, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times. - Collaborate with other interpreters or team members to ensure seamless communication and coordination during multilingual events. - Assist with document translation and review as needed. Requirements: - Proven experience as an interpreter, with a focus on formal interpretation between English and Kurdish. - Fluency in both English and Kurdish, with native or near-native proficiency in both languages. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas accurately and effectively. - Strong knowledge of formal language and terminology in both English and Kurdish, including legal, technical, and diplomatic terminology. - Ability to work under pressure and adapt to challenging or fast-paced environments. - Professional certification or accreditation in interpretation (e.g., Certified Interpreter) preferred. - Bachelor's degree in linguistics, translation, interpretation, or a related field is desirable. - Familiarity with cultural nuances and sensitivities of both English and Kurdish-speaking communities.
